The foundation of Tale of Business (https://taleofbusiness.com/) was laid in the vibrant, fast-paced environment of Manhattan. Our founder, Mia Lopez, began her journey at the NYU Stern School of Business, where she pursued her MBA with a concentration in Marketing and Brand Strategy.
Walking through the historic streets of Greenwich Village and the financial canyons of Wall Street, Mia realized a striking irony: the world’s most powerful corporations were obsessed with data, yet the most successful ones were those that mastered the art of the story. While her peers were focused on the cold logic of high-frequency trading, Mia spent her late nights in the NYU libraries researching how brands like Apple and Nike became cultural legends rather than just commodity sellers.
She saw that most business publications were failing the modern professional by stripping away the humanity of commerce. They presented numbers as dry facts, ignoring the grit, ambition, and creative spark that led to those numbers. Upon graduating, Mia spent several years at a premier creative agency in Brooklyn, but the dream of creating a “living archive” of business narratives never faded. In 2023, she launched Tale of Business. Her goal was to create a platform that applied the analytical rigor of an NYU Stern education to the creative power of storytelling. Today, Mia leads a team of strategic writers who believe that every market trend is a chapter in a much larger, global story.
